Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center will be the tallest building in China by 2024. The height of this skyscraper reaches 700 meters.

China is building skyscrapers in Shenzhen, a province in China bordering Hong Kong. This skyscraper is called Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center which is a mixed-use. 

However, interior design and architecture site Dezeen reported that later this building consists of a number of properties. Later, there will be apartments, offices, five-star hotels, shopping centers, to start-up incubators. 

There are international schools, meeting halls, exhibition halls, and also a performance arena.

China's Tallest Building Will Be Shimao Property Office

When it is built in March 2019, it will be one of Shimao Property's offices. The development company, which was founded in 2001, has a core business of building and managing residential as well as commercial property. 

70-year-old Hui Wing Mau is the founder and chairman of the company. He is also the eighth richest person in China with a total wealth of $5.4 billion in 2015. 

Shimao Property manages a number of star hotels in Shanghai and a number of other cities in China. In addition, the development company also manages premium office buildings in Shanghai.

Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center is 700 meters tall with 135 floors, but at the original design it was only 655 meters high. 

The bureau of renowned architects Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill who designed this building, the firm is indeed a specialization of tall buildings. 

Dezeen and China Daily said the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center will be the tallest building in China by 2024. Currently, the tallest tower in China is the Shanghai Tower in Shanghai which has a height of 632 meters. 

For the second highest building in China is Ping An International Financial Center in Shenzhen as high as 599 meters. The position of the tallest building in China is likely to belong to the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center.

Although, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center will be the tallest building in China, but not in the world.

The height of this skyscraper is inferior to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Emirates Arab. 

This iconic building with a sailboat-like shape has a height of 828 meters, still holding this record for quite a long time. 

The United Emirates Arab and Saudi Arabia are indeed China's competitors in the "race" to build the tallest building in the world. In 2021, the Dubai One Tower skyscraper is planned to be completed and operational.

The height of this building reaches 711 meters, of course Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center has not been able to beat it.

Shenzhen's location bordering Hong Kong certainly makes Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center comparable. 

To be sure Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center beat the tallest building in Hong Kong. The tallest building in Hong Kong is the International Commerce Center which was established since 2010.

This skyscraper tower only has a height of 484 meters and consists of 108 meters, it is very far away. The International Commerce Center is the 12th tallest building in the world with offices and hotels.

It is the tallest building in Hong Kong since 2010 and has not been replaced.
